Connection Tab

This tab defines the connection over the Google Calendar API. The connection requires an OAUTH2 access token for the Google account used to access the calendars.

1.  Choose Google Calendar Account Type:

Google G Suite - Select if you your organization is using GSuite (formerly Google Apps for Work, Non-Profit, or Education).  Optionally, you can choose to include personal calendars as room calendars.

Google Personal – Select if you are using your personal Google account (@gmail.com) for your room calendars.

2.  Enter domain name or email address:

For Google Business, enter your domain name for your GSuite.  E.g. domain-name.com.

For Google Personal only, enter the Google email account that you use to login to your calendars.

3.  Click the Authenticate button to allow Events2HVAC to connect to your Google account and view your calendars.  Google APIs use OAUTH2 to create an access token to your account.  If you already have an access token, this will return “Success” immediately if it can be refreshed.

4.  If this is the first time connecting, a browser window will open where you can login to your Google account and allow access your calendar. Once allowed, the browser will send the API device code to back to E2H where an OAUTH2 access token will be requested.  Google will return a valid access token and the “Success” message will be returned.

5.  You must authorize access for each E2H client that you are using. You may need to restart the Events2HVAC Windows service after you authorize Google.

Note:  Events2HVAC will cancel the OAUTH2 process after 30 seconds so you will need to login and allow permissions within this time frame.

Clear Token Button

Click the clear token button if you want to remove the local access token and restart the OAUTH2 process to generate a new access token.  Make sure you re-authorize the application or your schedules will fail to retrieve.

Change Keys Button

The API connection to Google uses a client key and client secret generated by Streamside Solutions’ Google account.  If you want to manage your own API connection for your organization, you can create your own set of client keys and use these to generate access tokens.  Clicking on the Change Keys button will clear out the Streamside Solutions client key/secret and allow you to use another set.

Note:  Once you clear out the Streamside Solutions keys, you will need to contact Streamside Solutions support if you want to reinstall the original keys.
