One of the recommendations for interfacing Events2HVAC with NetworkThermostat networks is to install and setup the NetX Port Sharing Service software. This software service allows Events2HVAC and existing NetworkThermostat Command Center software clients to coexist on the same network.
Although this component is not necessary, if you choose not to use it you cannot use the Command Center software when the Events2HVAC system is running. The Command Center software will use all of the Net/X controller TCP connection and won’t allow any client, including Events2HVAC, to connect to it.
Note: NPSS is not required if connecting directly to GE/HP-WIFI or GE/HP-IP thermostats unless you have these added to a command center project.
