Starting in v1.4, Events2HVAC has two available product editions: Standard and Professional
Currently the main difference between the two is that the professional edition allows a single instance of Events2HVAC to use multiple instances of different or same event providers.
Standard users can upgrade at any time to Professional with a license change. The Professional license will include a limit on the maximum number of event provider instances available. Both editions use the same room license limits across however many active event providers and equipment items are in use (enabled).
In 2019, we changed our licensing model to use a SaaS subscription model. This model uses the Professional edition and there are no limitations on the devices or event providers that are used in the software. Also, instead of using room count as the license metric, zones are used instead. This allows zones that serve multiple rooms to be counted once instead of counting each room. In addition, the SaaS model handles setup and on-going support for updates and site monitoring. Perpetual license holders are encouraged to upgrade to the new license model.
