Security Best Practices and Considerations

The P2000 username and password that is used in this interface should be dedicated to the Events2HVAC system and should only be given the rights in the P2000 system to access and control the terminals that will be used in the Events2HVAC interface.

All users defined in the Events2HVAC system that have Administrator or Operator roles will be able to manually send door commands using this interface.

Make sure the default administrator password is changed or the Admin account is disabled.

Only allow the Events2HVAC server IP address to access the P2000 server.

This interface relies on many other systems to reliably send commands to the door terminals.  These systems include but are not limited to network communications, power, the P2000 system, the P2000 serve, the Events2HVAC server, and the event provider system.  Any failures of these systems can prevent commands from getting executed at the appropriate time which can result in the door terminal being left in an undesirable state.
