To facilitate the setup of BACnet actions in Events2HVAC, a simple BACnet object explorer is available. When this is launched, a window will show all BACnet devices in a treeview layout. This will allow you to browse devices and select the appropriate point object to be pasted into an action form.
Only devices that are discovered using a WhoIs will be shown in the list. Manual address bindings should also be discovered.
You can open the explorer in two ways:
1. Using the menu (Device Interfaces à BACnet à BACnet Explorer)
2. Clicking on the “Browse” button or link within an Action Form.
When the window is opened you will see the following display:
The left pane shows the network tree. The right pane shows the children of the selected tree item. If the current selection is a point object (the lowest level folder on a branch in the tree), then the right pane will show the point object’s properties along with the current values of each of those:
Below these, in the bottom left corner of the window, note the Saved Points tab. Clicking this tab, a list panel alternately expands and collapses. In this pane, the user can save points and point properties from the two principal panes for quick reference and to export data. See the section “Point Lists” for more information on this feature.
