In addition to the single- and dual-action event triggers, there are also single and dual-action zone triggers. Zone triggers send commands at the beginning and end of the day using aggregated schedule data (as opposed to information about only a single event). When the event schedule is queried by Events2HVAC, if any of the scheduled rooms are associated with an action using a zone trigger, the application will pull out the first setup/start commands and the last stop/teardown commands for that space, using those times to send the zone-triggered actions. In this way, the scheduled equipment is active without interruption during the entire required period of a day, but no longer.
Trigger Name |
Action Type |
Description |
Zone First Event Start |
Single Action |
Occurs at the start of the first event of the day. |
Zone Last Event Stop |
Single Action |
Occurs at the stop of the last event of the day. |
Zone First Setup Start |
Single Action |
Occurs at the start of the first setup period, prior to the start of the first event. |
Zone Last Teardown Stop |
Single Action |
Occurs at the end of the final teardown period of the day, after the end of the last event. |
Zone First/Last Event Start/Stop |
Dual Action |
The action is triggered at the start of the first event of the day and again at the end of the last event. |
Zone First/Last Event Setup/Teardown |
Dual Action |
The action is triggered at the start of the setup period for the first event of the day and again at the end of the teardown period after the last event. This is the entire reserved or booked time for a zone during a day. |
Warning: Zone First/Last scheduling works well when events are scheduled within a single day. All-day schedules, schedules that overlap midnight, and multi-day schedules will cause the zone equipment to be in Occupied mode for the entire span which in most cases defeats the intent of this type of zone control and could cause undesired effects (e.g. unlocking building doors for an undesirable length of time).
