Campus and Building Groups

Events2HVAC support two types of groups:  Campus and Building.

Groups allow you to organize rooms into common building and campus groups.  This is especially handy for large multi-building multi-campus sites.  It is also useful when you have multiple event providers with rooms that share the same buildings.

Groups also allow you to assign a baseline weekly schedule for data analytics.  These schedules can be inherited from parent groups and equipment zones can inherit from a command building baseline schedule.

Equipment items can also be assigned groups once they are created.

When rooms are discovered from an event provider, the rooms’ buildings are used to create building groups automatically in Events2HVAC.  Once they are created, you can move rooms to other groups (drag & drop) and create new building and campus groups (right click menu).

Moving Groups and Rooms

To move rooms to a different group, select the rooms and drag the rooms to the new group.

Merging One Building Group into Another Building

If you want to merge a building into another building, just drag the source building node and drop on the destination building node.  You’ll get a message to confirm the merge.

After the merge, the source building will be deleted and the child rooms will be move to the destination building node.

Moving a Building to a Campus Group

If you want to move one or many buildings to a campus group, just select each building group, then drag and drop the selection to the campus node.
