After the installation of Events2HVAC, you will need to configure the connection to your ecobee account.
1. Open the E2H client.
2. Select
Device Interface
àEcobee
à Ecobee Options.
(Note: If you don’t see this option, either you didn’t load the ecobee interface
during setup, or you need to rediscover your devices using Device Interface
Manager.)
3. On the
Connection tab, enter the connection information specific to your
system. See the next section on interface options for details about each
field.
4. Enter
App Key: Click on the “Enter App Key” button and enter the Application API key that was sent
with your license. You can optionally create your own application key if
you have a developer account with ecobee. Select the appropriate account
type before starting the authorization process below.
5. Click
on the “Authorize Application” to start the authorization process using OAUTH2
pin code authorization.
6. Follow
the steps on the dialog window. Copy the generated pin code and paste it
in the pin code field after creating a new application in your ecobee
account.
7. Open the Default Settings tab and enter the default settings for your thermostats.
8. Open the Thermostats tab and discover all your site’s thermostats. The thermostats that you discover will appear as drop-down list items when you define the equipment actions for each zone.
9. Save
the settings by clicking on OK button. Make sure you restart the
Events2HVAC_Service so that it is using the same authentication token,
otherwise, the service will cause the new token to be invalidated.
10. Now you are ready to start mapping equipment zones.
