The equipment details contain the parameters for the zone.
Equipment Name
Enter a unique equipment or zone name. This can be anything that makes sense to your users. Some name it by the physical equipment (e.g. AHU-1, VAV-23, etc.) while others name it by room or zone (e.g. Room 23, Ballroom). If you have equipment zones that span across buildings, it is a best practices to prefix your names with the building (e.g. Bldg 1:AHU-1). This will keep items in same building together in the tree and to zone will be obvious in the reports.
Equipment Description
(Optional) Enter a description for the zone. This only shows up in reports.
Building/Group
(Optional) Assign a building to this equipment item. You can enter a new building in this combo box and hit enter to add a new building to the list. See also Campus and Building Groups
Equipment Type
(Optional) Assign an equipment type to the item. This allows grouping by type in the equipment tree and also filtering by type for the reports (e.g. HVAC Report, Security Report).
Baseline Schedule
(Optional) Assign the weekly baseline schedule for this equipment item. If “(Inherited)” is selected, the schedule assigned will be inherited by the assigned schedule for the nearest parent group. If no groups have an assignment, then the global default baseline schedule will be used. See also Baseline Schedules
Note: Baseline schedules are used for data analytics only (not control) and represent what the baseline (before Events2HVAC) weekly HVAC schedules for the zone.
Pre-Start Time
Enter the time that the zone will start in advance of the starting action trigger. This should be set to a typical time it takes for the system to bring the zone from unoccupied setpoint to occupied setpoint. This parameter may need to be adjusted seasonally. (Default range 0-240 minutes)
Post-Stop Time
Enter the time in minutes that the zone stay on or stop early for the stop action trigger. If a negative (-) time is entered, the stop command for the action will be sent before the event ends allowing additional energy savings. (Default range -30 to 240 minutes)
Warning: Assigning large pre-start and post-stop time will decrease potential energy savings for the zone and may prevent the zone from going to unoccupied mode between events due to the overlap of schedules. Use the shortest pre-start and post-stop values that are allowed without affecting space comfort for the event.
Minimum Stop Gap Time
Enter the minimum required stop gap time (duration) in minutes between a calculated stop (unoccupied) event time and the next start (occupied) time. Gaps less than or equal to this number will remain ON (occupied) instead between the events. This will prevent unnecessary short-cycling of equipment. (Maximum 120 minutes)
Disable Scheduling
This checkbox disables the zone from getting scheduled by Events2HVAC. The equipment item in the treeview will be shown in italics grey. If the zone is in occupied mode and you disable schedules, make sure you manually command the zone in your HVAC system to the correct state after disabling.
Note: Changing any of these parameters, actions, or room assignments for the equipment zone do not take effect until the next scheduled poll period or a manually initiated poll.
