Setup and Configuration

After the installation of Events2HVAC, you will need to configure the BACnet driver client settings for integration into your BACnet network.

The basic default settings for the BACnet driver are as follows:

      Datalink layer set to BACnet/IP

BACnet Device ID = 799 (This must be unique on the BACnet network)

If the rest of your BACnet system is on the same subnet as the Events2HVAC server, then those devices should be discoverable without any additional changes.

If your BACnet devices are on different subnets, then you will need to either connect as a foreign device or directly map the devices.

Initial Setup

1.  Open the E2H client.

2.  Select Device Interface à BACnet à BACnet Options.  (Note: if you don’t see this option, either you didn’t load the BACnet interface during setup or you need to re-discover your devices using Device Interface Manager.

3.  On the Registration Tab, make sure you have the two statuses showing green dots (not red).  This indicates that the client is running and the BACnet driver is registered.  If the BACnet driver is not showing registered, the driver will operate for 30 minutes in evaluation mode.  You will need to obtain a BACnet client key from Streamside Solutions for continuous operation

4.  On the server settings tab, make sure the BACnet device settings are suitable for your network.  The default device ID is 799.  Make sure this is unique on your BACnet network.  If you change any settings here, make sure you restart the E2H service.  Refer to Server Settings for detailed information on the fields.

5.  Modify any of the remaining settings if you have additional requirements.

6.  Verify you can see the BACnet network devices by running the BACnet explorer.  You may need to restart the Events2HVAC service to make sure all of your changes are applied to the running BACnet driver.
